Along the archipelagic of Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa, lies West Timor with its political region that comprises the western half of Timor Island with the exception of Oecussi-Ambeno district (which is politically part of East Timor) and forms a part of Indonesia province of East Nusa Tenggara, (NTT or Nusa TenggaraTimur). Kupang has awesome white sand beaches at Pantai Laisiana which is situated on the north of Dili and it has a magnificent shelf road just inside the border of Timor Province and the sunset is worth watching.
Other attraction is Semau Island and it’s a thirty minute boat ride from Kupang. It’s an ideal place to spend a day in a relaxed mood away from the bustle and crowd of the city.
